Lion – Matope – On the 10th Jan 2012, a call for help came out from friends ‘Kenyans for Wildlife’. A shy 13 yr old Lion was going to be euthanized by the Kenyan Wildlife Service, for no reason other than he was a bother. His name is Matope. Matope is healthy, however he is partially blind, but he was being cared for on a property for most of his life. KWS made callous and unwarranted decisions to kill this boy. Kenyans for Wildlife asked the world for help and the world answered. KWS was bombarded with phone calls and emails from around the world. Matope was granted life. However, KWS have moved him from his lovely home and into a horrendous cell. A number of people are working to try and bring peace back to this boy, Cee4life has joined Kenyans for Wildlife to help this lovely boy. More information coming soon. This is the shy Matope before he was removed by KWS.
