Directing the officials concerned for rehabilitation of villages/families from Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) to elsewhere soon, Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna, on Friday approved `10 crore for landscape development of the CTR.
The government is serious about conservation of wildlife, particularly tiger. And to give a concrete shape to this plan, human intervention has to be minimised in this protected CTR zone, the Chief Minister further said, asking the CTR officials to make arrangements for rehabilitation of the families staying in CTR region within a month.
Meanwhile, taking serious note of constructional activities like construction of resorts along the CTR corridor region, the Chief Minister asked the officials concerned to be cautious about such construction in this region and asked them to take action necessary action against such constructions after verifying all the aspects, including passing of house maps.
More so, he also asked the CTR officials to identify all the illegal constructions that have come up around the CTR region and take necessary action against such illegal activity immediately.
The officials concerned are asked to immediately ban constructional activities in Jamur and Kalkhand area.
