Special Operation Group of Kotdwara Police, after getting a tip-off, carried out checking of vehicles coming from hills near Lal Pul bridge, during the checking drive, two Nepali youths, Tenjing Lama and Dorje Lama, were found carrying the leopard skin in their vehicle, the SO said.
Rs 4,06,500 were also recovered from them, the duo have revealed that they intended to sell the skin to tourists at Kullu-Manali in Himachal Pradesh.
The Nepali residents also told that they had bought the skin from a person at Chamoli.
Police have registered a case under the wild life protection act and sent them to Jail at Pauri.
