URGENT BENUE ZOO ANNOUNCEMENT -
Ok, As some of you may know, Cee4life has been working with Nat Apr, who is the gentleman feeding the animals at Benue Zoo out of his own pocket. Cee4life has been trying to find a way to help the remaining animals of Benue Zoo and contacted Battabox – a video blog program who released film of Nat Apr showing the conditions at Benue and asking for assistance. http://youtu.be/A_8PHwWObns As Nigeria is a place where you must be very careful, I personally have liased with Nat along with my colleague Raabia Hawa in order to put a plan into action and confirm the situation with the animals. Over the last 3 1/2 weeks, we were able to confirm that the last surviving animals are in dire need. We have also found a place to rehome the Lioness, at my friend Babette De Jong’s at Wild Cats World http://www.wildcatsworld.nl/ – Babette can be contacted on FB too. Here is all the info http://cee4life.org/animal_aid.php I then found out a man by the name of Joseph Demitri claimed that he had started fundraisers and claimed that he was working directly with Benue Zoo and Nat Apr. JD claimed that he was in contact with Benue Zoo and their veterinarians etc. I have recieved confirmation and statement from Nat Apr yestereday, after Nat had a meeting with Benue Zoo staff, that JD has nothing to do with them, that JD has never contacted or been in contact with Benue Zoo staff. JD however sent a random email to Nat Apr on 11th November saying – “Our rescue team will arrive at Benue Zoo on 12th Nov 2012″ and that was all. Of course no “rescue team” arrived. Any fundraising for this Zoo that you see other than Cee4life is false. In addition, his claims of “being in contact with zoo staff” are now 100% proven false. Nat Apr and Battabox have told me they are going to release an official disclaimer on this asap. However, in the meantime, Cee4life has struggled getting any type of financial aid to these animals because JD has tainted the campaign. I would appreciate any help to put the message out that this man has lied consistently to the public about this case and has damaged this aid to these animals. And of course we would appreciate any aid/donations that you can give.
