Tony Supporters, We are all as anxious as you as to the delay in Justice for Tony.
We are currently researching the Louisiana State Laws as to how long a judge is actually allowed to hold up the rendering of a decision. The time frame for judges rendering a decision is an interesting topic we have researched.
We also believe there are many concerns as to how a tiger is legally held with no legal permits.
Delaying justice and denying justice are considered as the same thing …(in the Magna Carta)
“A month’s delay is normal. Two months delay is long. And three months is too long.”
Delay in issuing reasons for judgment is also a matter of judicial ethics.
You can hardly find a judge’s handbook that does not state the obvious:
“Judges should endeavor to perform all judicial duties, including the delivery of reserved judgments, with reasonable promptness.”1
“A judge shall dispose of all judicial matters promptly….”
“A Judge‘s failure to promptly dispose of pending matters generally does not warrant judicial discipline but rather administrative correction.”
So as the clock ticks away since August 6, 2012 when we all sat with hope and anticipation that Tony would soon be released and the calendars pages turned, we start to wonder, what truly is the law on how long a judge can take to render a decision…how long can Tony sit at Tiger truck stop in Louisiana without Justice.
The definition of Justice is this : The upholding of what is just, especially fair treatment and due reward in accordance with honor, standards, or law.
We question the faith in the court system in Louisiana…its been well over a year this legal process…now we have several concerns.
1. How is Tony allowed by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to sit there without any legal permits, and according to the USDA laws, if they have not State Permits from LDWF all Tony’s permits are null and void no where is it written that if a legal lawsuit is in place the laws do not apply
2. How is Tony’s Liability Insurance legal when there are no legal permits in place? Who is liable..the State?
3. Why is it that Mr. Sandlin still thinks Tony (his family member) should be subjected to living out his life as an attraction at a truck stop…this is not about Private Ownership laws, this is about what is right and wrong and how sentient beings are to be treated.
4. The legal system should move forward and expedite this case as soon as possible. We are not going anywhere until this case is resolved and Tony is living his life at a sanctuary free from harm and the public humiliation he faces daily pacing back and forth for profit.
Greed is the excessive desire, as for wealth or power, and this battle has gone on long enough. No one will win in this case, except Tony..the only one that should matter to all parties and humans involved. This is not about arrogance, or who is right or wrong this is about a right to a life. Our love for Tony is strong, we are here until this case is resolved.
We all have different views on animals and how our sentient beings are treated…if your a private owner, your views are different than most of the followers on Tony’s story. We appreciate your views but they have no bearing on this page or our beliefs.
“Depriving quick and certain justice to the litigants … reinforces the negative images of the judicial system….
