INDIA – I want to warn the people of India, about something that is disrespecting the memory of Billy Argan Singh. For those of you who dont know the work I do, I was an undercover investigator who gathered the evidence of abuse and wildlife trading of tigers inside the Tiger Temple in 2007 and have continued investigating this place for 6 years. I am also the director of NGO Cee4life (Australia). While inside the Temple in October 2012, I found out that the temple is now considering conducting one of the most unethical projects being touted under the banner of tiger conservation. They plan to release captive inbred, cross bred tigers into the wild. This will fail. However, they used Billy Singh’s name, and his work with Tara. The Tigers of the infamous Tiger Temple in Thailand are horrendously inbred and cross bred. The idea they have is to use current Tigers, (whom they breed rampantly for tourism) and instead of taking the cubs away from the mother at 7 days old or less as they do now, they are going to let the mothers have the cubs, with no human contact and then release them into the wild of Thailand. They say that this will be successful. I told them that no Tiger has survived a long time in the wild, they then quoted Billy Singh and Tara. That was one of the biggest pathetic insults that could be thrown to Billy Singh. Not only is the Tiger Temple responsible for some of the worst abuse and deaths of Tigers in present days, but also, to use India, and the revered conservationist Billy Singh to promote their highly unethical, and completely non-conservation project using his name is a disgrace.
India, the Tigers inside the Tiger Temple are Bengals, not Indochinese. They are Bengals, inbred and cross bred, and bought via the wildife trade, and used and exploited in a hell that no Tiger should be in.
I asked them what will happen when the Tigers they release cannot hunt, they told me that those Tigers will then be kept in captivity.
I can tell you now, that this project will fail. (If you want me to go into the details of why it will fail please ask me) And in all likelihood, they are lying about release into the wild, and in reality they purely want more Tigers, for a 2nd or 3rd Tiger Temple.
Recently 20 members of the Tiger Temple came to India.
I am highly concerned that they are trying to get their hooks into India, the very country which the Tigers of the Temple were stolen from.
Please be aware and alert to anything regarding the Tiger Temple in India.
It is a disgrace that the memory of Billy Singhs work has now been linked with this evil abusive wildlife trading Temple.
Please be on guard.
I will update you on any future information. Please share this far and wide with all your Indian colleagues.

Reung Dao – Here is the photograph that my friend Ted Larson was able to take before Reung Dao was lost to the wildlife trade. Although I knew and met Reung Dao, I didnt get the opportunity to photograph her. Reung was the sister of Harnfa, she vanished in the early stages, when I first went to work inside the tiger temple in 2007. At that point, I did not know what was going on, but then one day she vanished…. She was gone forever. This is the sister of my beloved Harnfa. The diet of the temple tigers is near vegetarian, and lacking in every vitamin, mineral etc needed for a carnivore. You can see the horrendous deformaties of Reungs arched spine, bowed legs etc. This is the same with all the tigers. I am eternally grateful Ted Larson, you were able to show she was alive, that she existed, thankyou dear friend for having the courage to step forward xoxo

I am pursuing a meeting with the Thai Gov soon to present ALOT of evidence to them. Evidence that they never got…. I found out that all the evidence that has been handed into the Thai Gov over the years has somehow disappeared. Luckily I throw away NOTHING…. During the filminig of the SBS Dateline program (Link to SBS documentary – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGD_p8HX2Vo), I gave the Wildlife Trade, Blackmarket document which is signed by the Abbot and the Laos tiger trader, to the investigative journalist, David O’Shea. David was able to get that document to the head of the Wildlife Department who admitted, on television, that it is Illegal and breaching the Thai Law and the CITES law. However, this document had NEVER been seen before.. Or at least never been seen by anyone in the Thai Gov that did anything about it. This document is only a tiny bit of the factual evidence to prove the wildlife trade occurring inside the Temple. Over the last year there have been over 30 tiger cubs born inside this place. Currently there is 105 tigers. Something is wrong. The numbers DO NOT add up. Unless the Tiger Temple can come up with these Tigers and present them, ALIVE, then there is no other explaination other than the Tigers ARE continuing to disappear.
To Tiger Temple – Don’t ever think that you have got away with the deaths of these animals. Don’t ever think that just because you have built some enclosures that you think this wipes all the evil deeds you have done. I saw you send Tigers to their death and you have never answered for that. Now I know why….. Produce evidence of the numerous CURRENT missing Tigers now. The ongoing arrogance you are continuing to display WILL NOT be kept in silence…… Sybelle
Will keep you up to date on this. I am appalled to find out that the Department of National Parks NEVER got this information and evidence…. This explains a lot…. Im am not Happy. For those that have never seen the Wildlife trade document, here it is. This is the death warrant of the original Tigers, Payak and Dao Rung. We could not save Payak, but did save Dao… Payak, along with other numerous tigers were lost to the wildlife trade, they are dead in bottles of Traditional Chinese Medicines Animal Body Part Use(TCM ABP).. ~ Sybelle
For Over 5 Years now, she has dedicated herself to Bringing Awareness to the Public of one of the World’s Most Renown Tourists Attractions – Thailand‘s Tiger Temple.
Under covering the Illegal Tiger Trade Operation that is hidden to the public Eye, this Woman has done everything in her power to be a Voice for the over 100 Tigers that are Victims and held Prisoner in this Temple. One of them being the Beautiful “Harnfa” that she helped raise – pictured here with Sybelle….
To Quote Sybelle -
Miracle –
My boy, My Harnfa touches earth for the first time in 5 years
)))))) If we didnt have faith, we would give up trying to save any creature. Even the toughest and seemingly impossible battles can be won. A long time ago, I began to fight for the Temple Tigers, I swore in my heart that I would Never Give Up. My boy I raised was trapped, he was abused, he was locked in a cage in Thailand and I couldnt get him out. Many told me over the years it is “Impossible Sybelle”… These things are only impossible if you say they are. I would never stop trying to save my boy, trying to get him out of his cement 15 foot prison. For 5 long years, my heart has been torn apart trying to bring some ethical care to him and the other temple tigers. If you ever loose faith and think it is impossible, dont, it only seems that way. xoxo Here is my Harnfa 2012, out of his jail cell, in his beloved plants and tree’s xoxo Never Give Up xoxoxo

Tigers, Thailand – Over the last week I have been in Thailand. The reason I went was to check on a few animal friends, but also I went to film a documentary with SBS. On 30th Oct 2012, 930pm (Australian Time) SBS investigative news program “Dateline” will air that documentary. It will be available online at the below link. Please tune in on TV or watch online and please share far and wide.
It is very important to educate the public on travelling ethically when visiting animals. Watch and see, how easy it is for you to be sucked into participating in exploitation of creatures, and the truth behind how you are able to “cuddle a tiger”. It is explosive and revealing and a must see education. 30th Oct 2012, 930pm. In the meantime, check out SBS Dateline News series. One of the best, if not the best, information news programs around.
‘Tiger teasing’ draws thousands of tourists to the Tiger Temple in western Thailand but animal rights campaigners have slammed it as “stupid” and “cruel”.
Visitors pay upwards of 600 Baht (£12) to dangle food on the end of a stick, while the animals – weighing up to 280kg – snarl and lunge at them.
The temple describes itself as a wildlife sanctuary, claiming the entry fee “goes to feeding the animals, and also to fund building a larger tiger sanctuary which will allow the animals to live in an almost natural environment”.
But conservationists have warned the tourists are encouraging animal cruelty and risking their own lives.
Sybelle Foxcroft worked undercover at the temple for a number of years, as part of an investigation for organisation Care for the Wild.
When shown the video by The Sun, she said: “This is that absolute height of stupidity.
“All the people have to think is – 150-280kg of teeth and claws coming at you…… where is the logic?”
Although she never witnessed it herself, Sybelle is convinced the animals are drugged before they are brought into contact with the public.
CONSERVATIONISTS have slammed the practise, which takes place at a temple in western Thailand
She added: “They showed every sign and symptom of drugging.
“The particular tigers that were in close contact with the public were given some sort of food, after which they became quite drowsy. That food was prepared only by Thai staff of the temple, and not foreigners.
“I am a wildlife biologist, and have worked with many tigers, and I deliberately went to the tigers I suspected to be drugged and examined them closely. Their eyes were dilated in broad sunlight, they were listless, tongues hanging limply, and you could basically do anything to them and they wouldn’t react for about two-three hours.”
Australian Sybelle, who has written a book about her time at the temple, titled Behind the Cloak of Buddha, also claimed the 115 tigers at the temple suffer severe malnutrition and spend most of the time locked away in concrete cells.
She added: “These tigers have never eaten red meat in their lives. They are fed a diet of near vegetarianism. This diet causes their bones to be bent, bowed legs, arched spines, abnormal bodies, disease etc.
“They also receive no enrichment at all, and have spent years with no sunlight.
“Add to that, a severe lack of exercise, and incorrect veterinary care and you have a whole lot of sickly tigers.
“There are now approximately 115 tigers inside the temple. Hidden underneath in cells.
“The education must get out there.
“The Tiger Temple practises severe abuse and major exploitation for money.
“There is absolutely no conservation value of these tigers.”
Sybelle also uncovered evidence to suggest the temple takes part in the illegal trade of animals.
As a result of her investigation, a coalition of 39 conservation groups including the WWF has campaigned to authorities in Thailand to take action against the Tiger Temple.
After The Sun showed him the shocking video, Phil Davies, the founder of Tiger Awareness, agreed the tigers appeared to have been drugged.
He said: “I’ve been told they’re drugged and beaten to make them dosy and amenable to having people around them
“If they weren’t drugged they wouldn’t be anywhere near people.
“I’ve not heard of tigers attacking people at the temple, but there’s always that chance. Tigers aren’t pets.”
Phil first learned about Tiger Temple “six or seven years” ago when he was told about the work being done there to help the animals.
But the more he researched the centre, the more concerned he became about the treatment of the tigers there.
He now warns tourists visiting Thailand to steer clear of the temple.
He added: “We try to warn people off and we try to make people aware of what goes on at the temple. But people like to have their photo taken with a tiger.”
Animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) insisted the temple had a long history of animal abuse.
A spokesperson said: “Tiger Temple is a notorious pit of despair.
“Animals are beaten and chained from the time they are babies; most big cats go mad from captivity. Every year, incidents of tiger maulings are reported at these tourist attractions.
“People can protect themselves and tigers by never frequenting these hellholes and donating to habitat-protection programmes instead.
A spokesperson for the Tiger Temple could not be reached for comment.
http://www.bangkokpost.comKANCHANABURI : The National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department has asked Wat Pa Luangta Maha Bua to bring under control the population of tigers in its care to curb a dramatic increase in their numbers.
Damrong Pidech, the department chief, yesterday visited the temple’s tiger zoo, well-known among tourists in Kanchanaburi, after a complaint that the temple was profiting from the animals by allowing tourist visits.
“I have come here to take a look at the living conditions of these tigers,” he said.
“Frankly speaking, their living conditions are better than those in state-owned zoos.
“If I move them out of here, I am afraid their living conditions might not be as good,” Mr Damrong said.
He said the department needed to closely cooperate with the temple to curb the tiger population.
He was concerned a rapid increase in tiger numbers will pose an added burden for the temple.
“As far as I know, the temple has a veterinary team to control the tiger population. The abbot told me he will separate male and female tigers during mating season,” he said.
In 2001, the department found the temple was keeping seven tigers illegally. The department allowed the temple to continue taking care of them, while declaring them illegal possessions. Since then, the number of tigers at the temple has soared to 99.
The temple’s abbot initially refused to allow officials to enter the zoo yesterday, fearing the animals might be taken away. He eventually allowed them in after 20 minutes of negotiations.
Phra Vissuthisaradhera, the abbot, said that he disagreed with the department’s plan to reduce the tiger population by transferring some of them to state-owned zoos or wildlife breeding centres.
“I am not sure the new places will have good conditions like this place. We are very close to the tigers. The animals may suffer from stress if they are taken away,” he said.
The department could control their numbers through birth control but then it would have to carry out the job by itself.
The temple spends 400,000 baht a day buying chicken carcasses to feed the tigers.
About 150 tourists, mostly foreigners, visit the temple weekly. The temple charges a 300 baht entrance fee for Thais and 600 baht for foreign tourists.
This brings in about 84 million baht a year for the temple.
The temple’s tiger zoo is located on 30 rai of land. The temple has spent about 100 million baht building cement cages and installing closed-circuit cameras to monitor the animals.
A department source claimed the temple has no intention of controlling the tiger population as having lots of them is good for business.
There are 1,328 tigers at zoos nationwide, with 143 of them seized from illegal traders. The country has about 200 tigers living in the wild.
