Founded by Indrajit Sengupta, our President, in 2010, we as a team made Saving Tiger the name it is today. We are a small but diligent team, working continuously and tirelessly in various parts of India and in key forest ranges where we are working at the ground level to safeguard the tigers against all unnatural situations and to give help and protection to tigers as required.
We collaborate with the Forest Department and work alongside with their co operation and help to track, survey and take steps to ensure the safety of the Tigers in various National Parks and Reserves. We have recently been concentrating on the Sundarbans and North Bengal area as they have been neglected and in need of support for the protection of the tiger population, the one that already exists in the Sunderbans. There is some very good and welcome news that tiger movement has been recorded in the Buxa Tiger Reserve in North Bengal and that there are tigers living there and making it their home. This opens a huge window of opportunity for us to be able to work from the beginning to make sure that these beautiful animals stay safe and live their lives n the natural habitat without any external danger.
We understand that without the support, co operation of the communities, villagers and the local people living and working within these areas, our work would be almost impossible to conduct. As such, we also do a fair amount of Community Support projects like donating necessary equipment to forest guards and staff who patrol the forests, we have helped village elders by giving out blankets. Saving Tiger has also undertaken the distribution of school books and the onus of educating the children in some schools.
Every single project, the very crux of our work would not have been possible without the support and generosity of our various well wishers, friends and organizations and individuals, and especially we are very much Grateful to Mr, Phil Davis for his great support for all our projects..
