Rest in peace Dear Girl ❤
The carcass of the one-year-old leopard was found near the road on Saturday morning and some passers-by informed this to the wildlife department. “The postmortem report has revealed that the leopard had head injuries after it was presumably hit by a heavy vehicle. The death occurred due to injury,” said a wildlife official.
The wildlife department has marked an inquiry. The carcass was burnt in presence of wildlife conservator M P Sharma and other officials of the department. “The animal has been cremated and an inquiry has been marked,” said Sharma.
Notably, NH-73A, which connects Yamunanagar to Dehradun and passes alongside the Kalesar Park remains busy day and night and vehicles cause danger to animals residing in the forests, which is spread over 100 sq kms. Departmental sources said that animals mostly stray into the road in search of water.
